Salary: Competitive and based on experience

Location: Coventry

A highly respected law firm in Coventry is seeking a Personal Injury Solicitor to join their claimant-focused team, offering you the chance to work on a diverse range of cases including employer's liability, public liability, road traffic accidents, and clinical negligence.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a solicitor with at least one years' post-qualification experience who is passionate about supporting clients through challenging times. The firm is committed to your professional growth, providing comprehensive training and the support of an experienced assistant, as well as flexible working arrangements to help you achieve a healthy work-life balance. With a clear progression path that could see you advance to Head of Department, this role offers both immediate impact and long-term career development within a supportive and collaborative environment.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a varied caseload of personal injury matters from inception through to resolution, including both pre-litigation and litigated claims.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the department to ensure the highest standards of client care are consistently delivered.
  • Contribute actively to networking activities by maintaining and developing relationships with local businesses and organisations that refer work to the firm.
  • Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members while fostering an inclusive and nurturing team culture.
  • Liaise empathetically with clients throughout their legal journey, ensuring they feel supported and informed at every stage of their case.
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant legislation and best practices in personal injury law to ensure compliance and optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Prepare detailed legal documents, statements, and correspondence with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Attend court hearings, settlement meetings, and mediations as required, representing clients' interests with professionalism and sensitivity.
  • Engage in regular departmental meetings to share knowledge, discuss complex cases, and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrable experience managing a mixed caseload of personal injury matters from initial instruction through litigation to settlement or trial.
  • Strong organisational abilities enabling you to prioritise tasks effectively while meeting important deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills allowing you to explain complex legal concepts clearly and empathetically to clients from all backgrounds.
  • A collaborative approach that fosters positive relationships within your team as well as with external stakeholders such as referrers or local organisations.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents accurately and efficiently using modern case management systems.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development demonstrated by keeping abreast of changes in relevant legislation or best practice guidelines.
  • Experience or knowledge of clinical negligence or contentious probate would be advantageous but is not essential; willingness to undertake further training is highly valued.
