What You’ll Be Doing
Technical Leadership and Delivery
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team of platform and network engineers
- Own and maintain the technical lifecycle roadmap for all platforms
- Strengthen relationships with key third-party partners to maximise value and velocity
- Drive technology upgrades, platform enhancements and continuous improvement
- Align infrastructure and platform strategies with wider business objectives
- Design, implement and maintain secure, scalable and resilient solutions across cloud and on-premises environments
- Mature DevOps practices by embedding automation, IaC and codified engineering approaches
- Ensure network performance, security, compliance and operational excellence
- Oversee disaster recovery planning and maintain high availability systems
- Provide hands-on engineering input when needed, leading by example
- Troubleshoot complex issues and champion performance optimisation
- Build a collaborative, accountable and high-performance engineering culture
- Promote ownership, craftsmanship and quality of delivery
- Provide coaching, mentoring and career development for team members
- Conduct performance reviews and offer constructive, meaningful feedback
- Set clear expectations and celebrate high performance
- Play a key role in shaping career pathways and engineering development frameworks
Technical Expertise
- Deep experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices and network management
- Excellent proficiency in Azure, ARM, Bicep, Terraform and CI/CD (Azure DevOps)
- Proven experience deploying platforms at scale using IaC and automation
- Understanding of enterprise data platforms and modern data methodologies
- Exposure to AI technologies and how they support enterprise-level services
- Expertise across Azure and infrastructure-as-code tooling
- Great knowledge of Cisco networking and Fortinet firewall/VPN management
- Experience with disaster recovery and high-availability architectures
- Awareness of security and compliance across identity, platform and EUC
- Excellent troubleshooting and performance optimisation capability
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Comfortable leading sprint ceremonies and contributing to iterative delivery
- Able to foster agility, adaptability and collaboration within the team
- Skilled in backlog and sprint management to ensure timely delivery
- Confident, decisive and supportive leader with experience managing engineering teams
- A problem-solver with the ability to break down complexity
- Excellent communicator, able to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Adaptable and curious, always learning and bringing innovation forward
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to engineering excellence and rigorous testing
