Following the successful development of multiple GW of renewable energy projects, the business is entering a major growth phase as it transitions from development into long-term ownership and operation of assets. With a substantial UK pipeline of utility-scale Solar and BESS projects, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager (Pre-Construction) to play a pivotal role in bringing projects through commercialisation and into delivery.

This is a newly created position that will sit at the heart of the project delivery function, helping to bridge the gap between development and construction whilst ensuring projects are fully prepared for investment and execution.

The Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to:

✔ Lead the pre-construction and commercialisation phase of major renewable energy projects

✔ Take projects from Ready-to-Build through Final Investment Decision and into construction

✔ Work on large-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) developments

✔ Shape project governance, delivery processes and commercialisation strategies

✔ Engage with investors, lenders, technical advisers, contractors and key supply chain partners

✔ Play a key role in the evolution of a growing Independent Power Producer

✔ Influence how future projects are delivered across the portfolio

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project management activities from Ready-to-Build through to Notice to Proceed
• Drive programme delivery across multidisciplinary project teams
• Coordinate development, engineering, procurement, commercial, grid and construction interfaces
• Support contractor selection, procurement strategies and commercial negotiations
• Manage relationships with lenders' technical advisers, insurers and external consultants
• Establish project controls, governance frameworks and reporting structures
• Identify and manage project risks throughout the commercialisation phase
• Support project financing and investment approval processes

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering large-scale energy or infrastructure projects
• Strong background in pre-construction, project delivery or commercialisation activities
• Experience managing complex stakeholder environments and multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of EPC and/or multi-package contracting strategies
• Experience operating within project-financed environments is highly desirable
• Renewable energy, Solar PV, BESS, transmission or wider energy infrastructure experience preferred
• Strong programme management, commercial and stakeholder management skills
