Presales Solutions Consultant
Overall purpose of the job:
Exponential-e is in the market for a Senior Solutions Consultant who can think outside of the box and work on complex projects encompassing network, voice and cloud solutions. The candidate is expected to have vast knowledge and experience across all market verticals and provide:
- A strong evangelist of the benefits of a managed service across a wide range of technologies, from Exponential-e
- "Pre-Sales" Solutions support internal and external account managers working on Security services and SASE, SD-WAN, LAN/WLAN, and connectivity to private and public cloud projects
- Own the creation of an Eco-system of a complete solution within a team consisting of multiple Subject Matter Experts to deliver complex solutions to address a client's requirements
- Provide Technical/Business Thought Leadership skills to generate the highest number of opportunities for Exponential-e
- Closely interact with the engineering department during the design stage of new solutions
Key responsibilities for this job:
- To engage with Sales Account Managers from the early stage of the opportunity cycle, leading all technical and service aspects of the opportunity
- To attend customer meetings with Sales Account Managers and proactively take part in customer conference calls
- The ability to design and develop innovative and competitive solutions, working individually or leading a wider virtual team for the qualified opportunity
- Demonstrate strong experience across the Enterprise marketplace to design and develop innovative and competitive solutions, working individually or with a more comprehensive virtual team
- Closely interact with the Pre-sales Technical Design Authorities and engineering departments during the design stage of new solutions, technical governance, and commercial processes.
- Technically qualify opportunities commercially, creating or overseeing an accurate Bill of Materials for the proposed solution.
- Work very closely with the Exponential-e Bid Team and Account Managers to respond to tenders (RFI/RFP)
- To act as a central point of contact and provide technical support within existing accounts
- Any other fair and reasonable task or duty assigned to you by your Manager, or other senior Exponential-e Ltd staff member
- Lastly, work as a team player to assist in the smooth running of the Solutions department
Knowledge and experience required:
- Significant IT / Telecoms experience
- Significant experience in a pre-sales environment with the ability to talk confidently about technical solutions
- Excellent presentation skills – the ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Demonstrable experience responding to bids and tenders with sound commercial acumen
- Proven technical design skills and the ability to create design documentation
- Knowledge of VPLS, MPLS, IP Networking, Routing Protocols, BGP, VRRP, IGRP
- Knowledge of SASE and SD-WAN technology and solutions
- Experience in designing secure Internet solutions layer seven firewalls. SIEM and SaSe services
- Understanding of cloud-hosted IP Telephony, SIP, and Unified Comms from Cisco and Microsoft
- Strong knowledge of HPE Aruba Central and Cisco/Meraki DNA wired and wireless cloud environments
- Familiarity with Private & Public Cloud architecture would be advantageous
- Previous hands-on technical experience is desirable
