Product Lead

Ufonia is a healthcare AI company transforming how health systems deliver care at scale. Our clinical AI voice agent, Dora, conducts real patient consultations over the telephone, replacing repeatable physician labour with safe, validated, evidence-based AI. With over 200,000 NHS consultations completed and research published in The Lancet Discovery Science (eClinicalMedicine) and Nature Medicine, we're at an inflection point: scaling nationally across ophthalmology, expanding into new pathways, and entering the US. We're a small team doing something genuinely consequential, where everyone operates well above their job title.

The role

You'll build new autonomous healthcare solutions, taking them from concept to first paying customers. The role is broad by design: you'll own whole clinical pathways end to end, across discovery, development, delivery and commercial outcome, working directly with patients, clinicians and operational leads to build products they'll use and customers will pay for.

In a typical week you might 'walk the pathway' to spot where you can add the most value, design an approach that gets a pathway live faster, or bring the science team's latest AI work into a clinical workflow.

The team

We organise around small groups of high-agency people who can analyse a problem, have taste for what good looks like, build the first version, evaluate it, and iterate fast. You'll team up with an experienced product engineer, plus draw on clinical, engineering, research, regulatory and design expertise across the company. As Ufonia grows, there's scope to take on more pathways and new markets, and your work should feed ideas back to the rest of the team.

What you'll do

  • Develop deep understanding of your pathway and customers: time in clinics, conversations with patients and clinicians, market and competitor research
  • Turn what you learn into clear priorities, then design, prototype and iterate
  • Take what you build from prototype to live clinical deployment
  • Monitor and share performance metrics across the patient and clinician experience once live
  • Own the regulatory strategy for your pathway, supported by internal and external expertise

First 90 days

  • Expert first-hand understanding of your first pathway, built through time in clinical settings and direct conversations with patients, clinicians and operational leads
  • A working prototype tested with users, plus a roadmap for what's next based on their feedback

About you

  • A track record of taking a product from nothing to paying customers, ideally in healthcare or another regulated domain
  • Strong commercial instinct: you think naturally about who pays and why
  • Strong product and design taste: you care how interfaces feel and see when something's too complicated
  • High fluency with AI tools and agentic coding: you build prototypes and your own tooling to validate ideas fast
  • Comfort in high-ambiguity environments with no playbook, and a bias for action
  • Experience communicating with senior professional clients
  • Excited to spend time in front-line clinical settings

Healthcare experience is useful but not required. Deep curiosity about how care could be made better matters more.

Interview Process

The process has four stages:

  1. Intro chat with the CPO, around 30 minutes.
  2. In-person practical technical exercise plus a non-technical interview.
  3. Team stage with the wider team and founder/CEO, focused on working style, judgement and values.
  4. Offer.
