Job Title: Production Support Engineer

Job Location: London, UK (Fully Onsite – Battersea, South London)

Job Type: Contract (6–12 Months, Extension Possible)


Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Production Support Engineer to join a fast-paced technology team supporting critical retail POS applications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end incident and problem management, ensuring timely resolution within SLAs.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues across POS applications.
  • Perform hands-on debugging of Java-based microservices and Swift POS clients.
  • Analyse logs, trace service dependencies, and identify root causes of recurring issues.
  • Manage change requests and provide production support during releases and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with engineering and business teams to drive issue resolution.
  • Prepare operational reports, handover documentation, and incident analysis.
  • Support critical business events, peak trading periods, promotions, and seasonal activities.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for POS-related production support activities.

Required Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in Production/Application Support.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with Java-based applications and microservices.
  • Experience analysing logs, distributed systems, and service dependencies.
  • Knowledge of incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and coordination skills.
