About The Business Unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.

Overview Of The Role
We are looking for a project controller who can also support our project managers with project controls across Aviation, Maritime and Offshore (AMO). The role is intended to strengthen AMO’s project management resilience and improve consistency in project delivery, reporting and controls across a varied portfolio of work, including major airport, maritime and offshore assignments in the UK and internationally.

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers and divisional leadership to help plan, monitor and deliver projects effectively. This will include supporting programme coordination, schedules, cost and resource tracking, reporting, risk and change management, and helping teams apply good project controls discipline. The role will suit someone who is comfortable operating across both delivery management and project controls, and who can step into project management responsibilities where needed.

You will contribute to improving project performance, supporting teams on live commissions, and helping build greater resilience and consistency in the way AMO manages projects and portfolios. The role is fee earning and will work across a range of high-profile opportunities and live projects.

Candidate specification
Essential:
  • Experience in project management, project controls or a combined delivery / controls role within a professional services, engineering or infrastructure environment
  • Ability to support project managers with planning, budgeting, forecasting, progress tracking and reporting across multiple projects
  • Good understanding of project controls principles, including scheduling, cost control, risk management, change control and performance reporting
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work across multiple priorities and support teams in a structured and practical way
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with project managers, technical teams and senior leaders
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the confidence to identify issues, improve ways of working and help drive consistency in delivery

Desirable:
  • Experience supporting project managers in an aviation, maritime, offshore or wider transport / infrastructure environment
  • Experience working across portfolios or divisional reporting, including improving project governance or management information
  • Familiarity with project controls systems, reporting tools and internal business management processes
  • Relevant project management or project controls qualifications

We are ideally looking for candidates on a part-time basis (hours to be agreed) but are open to full-time.

Please note: The closing date for applications will be midnight on Friday 10th July.
UK Immigration
Mott MacDonald Ltd. are not currently offering sponsorship to candidates under the Skilled Worker visa route in the UK. This decision is as a consequence of the changes made to the Skilled Worker route by the UK Government in April 2024. We continue to welcome applications from candidates who are eligible for alternative immigration routes in the UK, that do not require sponsorship as a Skilled Worker now or in future.
