Project Manager – Cyber Security
We are recruiting an experienced Project Manager to join the Project Management Office of a growing technology services organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven Project Manager with at least five years’ experience delivering projects within networking, telecommunications, cyber security or managed IT services.
You will manage the complete project lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering and project scoping through to implementation, customer acceptance and handover into Support, Managed Services and Security Operations teams.
The role
Working closely with customers, internal technical teams, commercial stakeholders, suppliers and external partners, you will take ownership of multiple projects and ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Projects may range from initial proofs of concept through to complex, multi-phase and multi-site technology deployments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Gathering requirements and clearly documenting project scope
- Producing detailed project plans and Work Breakdown Structures
- Breaking complex requirements into manageable workstreams
- Supporting bid management and contributing to bid responses
- Planning all stages of project delivery
- Establishing appropriate project governance and controls
- Producing and maintaining project documentation, reporting and tooling
- Identifying, analysing and managing project risks
- Managing project budgets, resources, dependencies and timelines
- Controlling scope and managing change requests effectively
- Resolving project issues and maintaining clear ownership of actions
- Developing effective stakeholder and communication plans
- Coordinating technical, commercial and operational teams
- Managing third-party suppliers and delivery partners
- Reporting on project progress, performance and key milestones
- Finding practical solutions to complex delivery challenges
- Managing stakeholders at all levels throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensuring a smooth transition into support and managed service environments
About you
You will be an organised, commercially aware and detail-focused Project Manager who is comfortable taking ownership and working in a fast-paced technical environment.
You should be confident communicating with customers, technical specialists, senior stakeholders and third-party suppliers. You will also be able to manage competing priorities while remaining calm, professional and focused on successful outcomes.
Essential experience
- At least five years’ project management experience in a relevant environment
- Previous experience delivering networking, telecommunications, cyber-security, infrastructure or managed service projects
- Experience managing projects throughout the complete delivery lifecycle
- Strong customer and stakeholder management skills
- Experience managing budgets, resources, risks, issues and dependencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong influencing, negotiation and leadership capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- A structured and methodical approach with excellent attention to detail
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider delivery team
- Full UK driving licence
Qualifications
- PRINCE2 Practitioner or a comparable project management qualification
- A degree or equivalent professional experience would be beneficial
