Shetland Islands Council is seeking a Project Officer to join our Development Services team and help deliver key projects that support our communities and shape the future of the islands.
πΌ The Role
As a Project Officer, you will play an important role in delivering a diverse range of projects. You will:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Council services to progress key initiatives
- Build strong relationships with partner agencies, stakeholders, and community groups locally and nationally
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects to meet agreed objectives and timescales
- Assist with monitoring progress, managing information, and reporting on outcomes
- Contribute to problem-solving and identifying practical solutions to support successful delivery
- Help ensure projects align with wider Council priorities and strategic goals
This is a varied and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to be involved in meaningful work with visible impact across Shetland.
π° Package & Benefits
- Β£36,532.56 - Β£37,575.12 per year - Grade H salary (inclusive of Β£2,997 Distant Islands Allowance)
- Full time β 37 hours per week
- 24-month fixed-term contract

Based at 8 North Ness, Lerwick, in the heart of Shetland.
