Public Procurement Lawyer, Commercial Disputes – Managing Associate or Legal Director, Leeds.
Our Public Law and Procurement Disputes team is recognised for combining market-leading public law expertise with top-tier procurement litigation capability. We support clients across the full procurement lifecycle, from strategic planning and risk management through to complex, high-profile disputes. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Managing Associate or Legal Director to join our collaborative and dynamic team, advising on cutting-edge matters across sectors including healthcare, defence, transport, technology, infrastructure, and energy.
What You'll Do:
- Advise clients on a broad range of public law and procurement matters, including judicial reviews and procurement challenges
- Lead complex and time-sensitive disputes, managing cases, coordinating teams, and overseeing delivery against court and client deadlines
- Provide commercially focused, strategic advice to both contracting authorities and bidders across the procurement lifecycle
- Build and strengthen client relationships while supporting wider business development initiatives across the practice
- Collaborate closely with disputes, public law, procurement, innovation, and sector specialist teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Mentor and support junior lawyers, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture
- Drive innovation in legal service delivery, including the effective use of legal technology and AI tools
Who We're Looking For:
- Qualified lawyer with at least 6+ PQE for Managing Associate level or 8+ PQE for Legal Director level, gained within private practice
- Strong experience managing both public procurement and judicial review matters
- Proven ability to lead complex disputes and deliver commercially grounded legal advice
- Excellent client relationship and business development skills
- Collaborative team player with a proactive and strategic approach to problem-solving
