Python Developer
Location: Glasgow – 4 days on-site, 1 day remote
Start Date: ASAP
Contract End Date: April 2027 (with a few to extend for a further 12-months)
Daily Rate: £400–£450 per day, Inside IR35
Damia Group is currently supporting a leading investment banking organisation in Glasgow with the appointment of an experienced Python Developer.
You’ll join an engineering-focused team responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining automated solutions across end-to-end (E2E) workflows. The role will involve building robust, scalable solutions while supporting reliable deployment and operational excellence across the wider engineering environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Python Developer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working across application, automation and infrastructure layers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality, scalable applications and services using Python.
- Build and maintain automated solutions supporting end-to-end business and technical workflows.
- Develop reusable automation frameworks, tooling and components.
- Integrate applications and automation solutions with APIs and distributed systems.
- Support reliable deployment through modern CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across application, infrastructure and automation environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams within an Agile delivery environment.
- Contribute to software design, testing strategies, code quality and wider engineering best practices.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Strong software engineering background with extensive hands-on Python development experience.
- Proven experience designing, developing and maintaining scalable applications and services.
- Practical experience with automation technologies such as Playwright and/or Selenium.
- Experience developing reusable automation frameworks and tooling.
- Good understanding of API-driven architectures, microservices and distributed systems.
- Exposure to cloud-native development and containerisation, including Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of software design principles, testing strategies and engineering best practices.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across application, infrastructure and automation layers.
- Experience working within Agile environments alongside cross-functional engineering teams.
