π The Opportunity
An industry-leading global hedge fund is looking for a Python Engineer to join its front-office technology team, partnering directly with Portfolio Managers, Quantitative Researchers, and Analysts to build the tools and platforms that drive investment performance.
This is a highly visible, business-facing role where you'll develop critical technology used to support research, trading, and portfolio management activities. Your work will have a direct impact on investment decisions, operational efficiency, and overall trading performance.
π§ What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications supporting trading, research, and portfolio management
- Build bespoke analytics, reporting, and visualisation tools in collaboration with investment teams
- Develop and optimise data pipelines for large-scale financial datasets
- Automate complex workflows and enhance the efficiency of research and trading processes
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers, Quants, and Analysts to deliver innovative, business-critical solutions

β What We're Looking For
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative discipline
- Strong Python development experience within high-performance, data-intensive, or distributed environments
- Excellent software engineering fundamentals, including system design and code quality
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
β Nice to Have
- Exposure to financial markets, trading systems, or quantitative research environments
- Experience working with large-scale data pipelines and cloud-based technologies
- Knowledge of equities, fixed income, derivatives, or alternative asset classes
