About the Role

We are seeking an experienced QA Architect to lead and shape the testing strategy across multiple teams and regions. This role is ideal for a strategic QA leader who can define governance frameworks, drive quality excellence, and ensure alignment between testing practices and business objectives in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Job Title: QA Architect

Location: Sheffield, UK (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)

Employment Type: Sub-Contract (Inside IR35)


Key Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and govern enterprise-wide Testing Strategies and QA frameworks across multiple teams and geographies
  • Align QA and testing strategy with broader business and delivery objectives
  • Lead QA governance, ensuring consistent adoption of best practices and quality standards
  • Drive audit readiness in regulated environments, ensuring traceability, controls, and compliance evidence
  • Participate in internal and external QA audits, collaborating with Risk, Compliance, and Control Owners
  • Provide leadership in Application Security, including Secure SDLC, threat modelling, and DevSecOps integration
  • Analyze QA metrics and performance data, producing clear insights, trend analysis, and actionable recommendations
  • Work closely with stakeholders to influence decision-making and foster strong cross-functional partnerships
  • Support Agile and DevSecOps delivery practices including sprint planning, backlog refinement, velocity tracking, and defect management
  • Facilitate workshops, produce governance documentation, and promote QA best practices across teams
  • Champion continuous improvement, change management, and knowledge sharing across the QA community

Required Experience

  • 6+ years of QA experience with at least 2+ years in a QA Manager or QA Architect/Lead role
  • Proven experience defining and delivering testing strategies and QA governance frameworks
  • Strong background in audit readiness, compliance, and regulated environments
  • Hands-on experience working with Risk and Compliance teams and audit processes
  • Strong exposure to Application Security including Secure SDLC, threat modelling, and security architecture reviews
  • Experience working in Agile and DevSecOps environments
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear insights, trends, and executive-level reporting
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Git, and test management tools

Certifications (Preferred)

  • ISTQB Advanced Test Manager (or equivalent)
  • Certifications in QA governance, audit, or quality management frameworks
