Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Qualified Nursery Practitioner role based in Huntingdon. The Nursery Practitioner will deliver high-quality care and education to children, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and nursery policies. Day-to-day, the role includes planning and leading age-appropriate activities, supporting children’s learning and development, supervising play, and maintaining a safe, hygienic environment. The practitioner will build positive, professional relationships with children, families, and colleagues, contribute to observations and learning journals, and support key children with their individual needs. The role also involves supporting mealtimes, rest periods, and routines, as well as attending team meetings and training to maintain and develop best practice.

Qualifications

  • Recognized childcare qualification at Level 3 (or equivalent or higher) in Early Years, Childcare, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding, and child protection procedures.
  • Proven experience working in an early years or nursery setting, ideally as a key person.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging, age-appropriate activities that support learning and development.
  • Commitment to providing inclusive, child-centered care that respects individual backgrounds, abilities, and needs.
  • Good organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to follow nursery policies, health and safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid, food hygiene, and safeguarding training (or willingness to obtain).
