Alan Mann Racing is one of Britain’s most iconic motorsport names, now operating as the high-performance division of Boreham Motorworks. From championship-winning touring cars of the 1960s to modern continuation builds and high-performance vehicle development programmes, our workshop combines heritage craftsmanship with contemporary engineering standards.

We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced Senior Vehicle Technician and Race Mechanic to play a key role in delivering exceptional historic and performancevehicles.

As a Race Mechanic/Senior Vehicle Technician at Alan Mann Racing, you will be a core member of our workshop team, responsible for delivering vehicles to the highest mechanical and presentation standards.

Working across continuation builds, historic race cars and high-performance development projects, you will take ownership of complex mechanical work from strip-down through to final build and shakedown.

Key Responsibilities


  • Mechanical assembly of high-performance road and race vehicles
  • Full vehicle restorations, including engine and gearbox rebuilds
  • Suspension setup, braking systems, drivetrain installation and diagnostics
  • Race preparation to FIA standards
  • Supporting test days, shakedowns and competitive events where required
  • Fault finding and problem-solving to a high technical standard
  • Mentoring junior technicians and maintaining workshop best practice
  • Ensuring all work meets the company’s exacting quality and presentation standards
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Significant experience as a Vehicle Technician (senior level preferred)
  • Strong mechanical diagnostic capability
  • Experience with performance, classic, or motorsport vehicles highly desirable
  • Engine and gearbox rebuild experience advantageous
  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Full clean, UK Driving Licence.
  • Motorsport or historic vehicle experience is highly desirable, but we will also consider exceptional technicians from prestige or performance dealership backgrounds.
