Registered Mental Health Nurse – Children’s Services
Job summary We are seeking a Band 6 Registered Mental Health Nurse to support children and young people presenting with mental health needs across paediatric inpatient areas and the Children's Emergency Department. The post holder will provide specialist mental health, care planning, risk management and staff support, working closely with CAMHS, eating disorder services, ward teams and the wider MDT. This role will help deliver safe, timely and therapeutic care, reduce escalation, and support a more sustainable CYP mental health model across Children's Services. This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria. Main duties of the job The post holder will provide specialist mental health nursing assessment, care planning, risk management and therapeutic support for children and young people across paediatric wards and the Children's Emergency Department. They will work closely with CAMHS, eating disorder services, ward teams, ED colleagues and the wider MDT to support safe, timely and coordinated care. The role will include providing advice, supervision and support to Enhanced Care Support Workers and clinical teams, contributing to staff confidence, patient safety, discharge planning and service improvement.
