Tesla is seeking a Regulatory Analyst to join the Regulatory Credit Trading team under Corporate Development. This role will manage the continuous evaluation and strategic response to policies and regulations impacting revenue-generating opportunities of current and upcoming regulatory credit markets globally. The successful candidate will be passionate about Tesla’s mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable abundance, demonstrating strong communication skills, a curious mindset, analytical thinking, and exceptional attention to detail. What You'll Do

  • Develop an expert understanding of regulatory frameworks and policy landscapes underpinning North American and European regulatory credit and environmental commodity markets
  • Monitor and assess policy developments regulatory changes and compliance requirements impacting regulatory credit markets providing commercially focused impact assessments which clarify implications for the business and guidance on applicable action items
  • Collaborate with traders commercial teams and internal stakeholders to integrate policy insights across the business lifecycle identifying opportunities for risk mitigation process optimization and enhancing the positioning of the business
  • Take a leading role in the preparation of briefing sheets talking points and other policy materials that support Tesla advocacy engagements related to regulatory credits
  • Build strong working relationships with other internal teams critical to policy and regulatory analysis including supercharging homologation compliance legal and policy teams
  • Support accurate external reporting on policy and regulatory matters pertaining to regulatory credits

  • What You'll Bring

  • This role has a global scope and as such fluency in English with proficiency in at least one additional language is preferred
  • Comfort with ambiguity with the ability to solve problems with limited information through analytical and creative first principles thinking
  • Evidence of exceptional ability in a professional capacity with proven experience in roles focused on policy and regulations of energy commodity markets Exposure to environmental product markets specifically is strongly preferred
  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read interpret and synthesize complex regulatory topics and technical documents into concise summaries for senior business leaders and stakeholders
  • Degree in Mathematics Economics Finance Business or equivalent experience
