Head of Stourbridge Property Team

Residential Property

Stourbridge | Full Time | Permanent

We’re looking for an experienced Residential Property professional to lead our established Stourbridge team and play an important role in its continued growth.

This is an opportunity to combine your technical expertise with genuine people leadership. You’ll lead and develop a team of Conveyancers, Paralegals and Trainees, build relationships with clients and local introducers, and help shape the future success of our residential property offering in Stourbridge.

You’ll be joining an award-winning Residential Property department, recently named Conveyancing Law Firm of the Year – Midlands & Wales at the National Conveyancing Awards. With an established regional presence, a strong flow of work and experienced colleagues across the wider department, you’ll have the platform and support to make a visible impact.

The role would suit an experienced conveyancer who already leads or supervises others, or someone ready to take the next step into a formal team leadership position.

What does the job involve?

  • Leading, supporting and developing a team of Conveyancers, Paralegals and Trainees through effective supervision, coaching and technical guidance.
  • Managing an appropriate residential conveyancing caseload, covering matters such as freehold and leasehold transactions, remortgages, transfers of equity and shared ownership.
  • Overseeing workflow, file allocation and team performance to ensure service, financial and operational objectives are achieved.
  • Acting as a senior technical point of contact, providing practical guidance on complex or higher-risk matters while maintaining strong compliance standards.
  • Building relationships with clients, estate agents, introducers and other professional contacts to strengthen our local presence and generate sustainable work.
  • Working with the wider department to improve client service, develop our people and promote efficient, technology-enabled ways of working.

What do you need?

  • At least three years’ experience managing your own residential conveyancing caseload, with strong knowledge of freehold, leasehold and related property transactions.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or developing colleagues, with the confidence to take responsibility for team performance.
  • The ability to create a supportive, accountable and collaborative environment in which people can develop and succeed.
  • Excellent client-care and relationship-building skills, including confidence engaging with estate agents, introducers and other professional contacts.
  • Strong organisational, commercial and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and provide calm, practical guidance.
  • Good knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, case-management systems and the Land Registry Portal.

You may be a Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, Licensed Conveyancer or an experienced conveyancing professional with the technical expertise and leadership capability to succeed in the role.
