Role Description The Restaurant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the United Kingdom, responsible for overseeing daily restaurant operations within Hamlet Hotels. This role manages front-of-house service, coordinates with kitchen and bar teams, and ensures consistent delivery of high-quality food and beverage experiences. The Restaurant Manager leads and schedules the team, supports hiring and onboarding, conducts briefings, and monitors performance to maintain service standards. They handle guest inquiries and complaints, drive customer satisfaction scores, optimize table turns, and support revenue and cost control. The role also involves monitoring health and safety, maintaining compliance with food hygiene regulations, and collaborating with hotel leadership on promotions, events, and brand initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong customer-facing abilities, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills to deliver a welcoming, responsive guest experience.
- Experience in Food & Beverage operations, with knowledge of restaurant service standards, menu execution, and basic cost control.
- Effective Communication skills to coordinate with team members, kitchen staff, and hotel management, and to handle guest feedback professionally.
- Hands-on Hiring and people management experience, including training, scheduling, and coaching team members.
- Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Manager, or Supervisor in a hotel or restaurant environment.
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and food hygiene regulations, with a focus on compliance and risk management.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
- Proficiency with basic POS systems and restaurant management tools; numeracy skills for reporting and inventory checks.
- Relevant hospitality or management qualification or diploma is beneficial but not mandatory; equivalent experience is valued.
