‘Developing Independence through creativity, connection and confidence.’

The Mile House Therapeutic School is a nurturing and friendly school where each person is valued and respected as an individual. We provide students with a broad and balanced education in a calm, safe and understanding setting in order for them to progress and succeed.

All students in the school have complex learning and social, emotional, mental health needs and all have Education, Health and Care plans that are met through the careful planning and delivery of a therapeutic, individualised, broad and balanced curriculum.

We are looking for an inspirational teacher who understand how to engage and motivate children and young people who struggle with a range of barriers to learning.

This role is for a creative and flexible teacher who understands that developing positive relationships, combined with high quality teaching and learning and relevant and exciting curriculum development, are key to enabling progress and unlocking student potential to achieve success.

About You

We are looking for teachers with QTS who are confident to deliver national curriculum subjects, project based learning and nationally accredited courses to KS3 and KS4 students.

Our teachers will need to be flexible and collaborative in their approach to teaching and learning, and the ability to teach more than one subject and/or being open to teaching combined projects would be a distinct advantage.

Successful candidates will support the school’s vision, values and ethos and will want to embrace all aspects of our therapeutic school life.

We place high value on individualised professional development, regardless of career path for all staff and so an interest in, and commitment to, continuing professional development is also key.

About Us

The Mile House Therapeutic School specialises in meeting the needs of children and young people experiencing social emotional mental health difficulties, including those who are neuro diverse or those with learning difficulties which put their emotional and mental health at risk.

We place an equal emphasis on the educational, social, and psychological development of our children and young people and the school’s ethos and curriculum approach has been developed with wellbeing and aspiration for all at its core.
