Due to continued growth, we are looking for an Employment lawyer to join our top-ranked Employment, Pensions and Immigration team in Birmingham.
The role
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a nationally recognised practice, advising a diverse client base across the commercial, higher education, health, sports and charitable sectors. You will undertake a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment work, providing commercially focused advice and support to clients on a wide range of employment law matters.
Alongside advisory work, you will play an active role in delivering our annual programme of client training, seminars and legal updates, helping to strengthen existing relationships and develop new opportunities.
You will work closely with partners Kate Watkins, Richard Barker and Richard Santy, as well as the wider Birmingham employment team. You will also be part of our national Employment, Pensions and Immigration Service Line, a team of more than 90 lawyers led by David Mills and supported by dedicated Professional Support Lawyers. Regular cross-office training, sector initiatives and team events provide excellent opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional development.

What You'll Bring
You will be a strong employment lawyer with the ability to deliver exceptional service and commercially focused advice. You will:
- Have at least 5 years' experience as an employment lawyer, gained in a reputable law firm acting for employers, or through inhouse experience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Demonstrate excellent technical knowledge of employment law
- Deliver high-quality, practical and commercially aware advice
- Undertake advocacy at Preliminary Hearings where appropriate
- Deliver employment law training to clients and prospective clients
- Contribute to business development activities and support growth initiatives
- Understand clients' legal, commercial and operational objectives
