About the Role

As a Senior Building Surveyor, you'll manage your own portfolio of properties across England, including domestic and healthcare settings. You'll balance hands-on surveying and inspection work with the strategic delivery of maintenance, compliance, and capital projects.


What You'll Be Doing

With significant autonomy and variety in your day-to-day work, you'll:

✅ Conduct building surveys and pathology inspections across domestic and healthcare properties

✅ Diagnose building defects and produce detailed reports

✅ Prepare and manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and budgets

✅ Project manage capital works projects from inception through to completion

✅ Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, with particular focus on fire safety and building compliance

✅ Work closely with Maintenance Coordinators and Service Managers to deliver effective maintenance solutions

✅ Manage contractor performance and quality standards

✅ Sign off completed works on-site

✅ Build strong relationships with contractors and key stakeholders

✅ Provide regular progress updates on projects and maintenance activities


What We're Looking For

Must have

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a Building Surveying role
  • Experience managing multiple projects across social housing, social care, healthcare, or similar environments
  • Knowledge of building regulations, statutory and healthcare sector-specific compliance, health & safety, and CDM regulations
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, comfortable working across multiple digital platforms including Excel and document management systems
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK, including overnight stays
