This Opportunity

Palladium’s UKEA Partnership is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial and Pricing Manager to deliver expert commercial structuring and pricing solutions. This role is vital to shaping commercially sound proposals, advancing pricing strategies across a diverse client portfolio, and embedding disciplined practices to support sustainable and competitive growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in pricing bids for major clients and will serve as a valued strategic advisor to senior leadership, applying a portfolio-level perspective and offering constructive insights to drive effective pricing conversations and strategies.

Location:

The position will be based out of Palladium’s London office. Please note that applicants must have the right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Palladium supports a hybrid working model with three days in office and two days remote.

Reporting Lines

  • This role will report to the Finance Director with an indirect reporting line to the Regional Director, UKEA
  • This role will not have supervisory responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

Pricing Management

  • Lead pricing strategy and execution for bids across all priority clients, including FCDO and other UK Government departments
  • Develop, review, and rigorously challenge cost and pricing models to ensure robustness and accuracy
  • Ensure all commercial proposals are competitive, compliant with donor/client requirements, and aligned with agreed margin targets

Commercial Strategy & Structuring

  • Advise bid and delivery teams on appropriate commercial models, including risk sharing mechanisms, partnering arrangements, and contract structures
  • Provide guidance on commercial risk, pricing levers, and contractual terms throughout the bid lifecycle
  • Ensure all bids comply with internal commercial and financial governance processes
  • Collaborate closely with Finance to validate assumptions, cost bases, rates, and costing methodologies

Commercial Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Maintain and continuously improve pricing tools, rate cards, risk registers, and commercial approval workflows
  • Provide oversight and quality control of pricing activity across the organisation
  • Coach and support pricing champions to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to best practice
  • Act as a point of escalation for commercial and pricing risks

Commercial Insights & Reporting

  • Lead commercial win/loss analysis to identify trends, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities
  • Monitor and report on margin performance and pricing trends across clients and portfolios
  • Produce actionable commercial insights to inform business development priorities and portfolio strategy

Best Practice & Capability Development

  • Develop, standardise, and maintain pricing templates, calculators, scenario models, and commercial guidance
  • Embed best practice pricing and commercial disciplines across Business Development, practice teams, and pricing champions
  • Build organisational commercial capability through training, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Criteria

  • Significant demonstrated experience in pricing, commercial management, or financial modeling, including sensitivity analysis and scenario modeling
  • Experience in commercial models for UK Government contracts
  • Strong understanding of risk, margin management, and cost structures
  • Experience supporting complex bids across multiple client types
  • Ability to challenge assumptions and influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to clearly explain modeling outputs and commercial implications to stakeholders
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical capability

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in international development, consulting, or public sector contracting
  • Experience working in matrixed or multi‑regional organisations
  • CIPS qualified
