Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our growing Nuclear sector, supporting both work winning activities and the delivery of major infrastructure projects across the UK.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping our commercial approach in a high-growth sector, working alongside senior leadership to secure and deliver some of the UK’s most significant nuclear projects.

The role:

Initially, you will focus on supporting a wide range of work-winning and pre-construction activities, providing commercial expertise to secure new opportunities. As projects are awarded, you will transition into a lead or senior commercial role on major nuclear schemes, helping drive successful delivery.

You will work closely with senior leaders, contributing to both strategic growth and operational excellence within the Nuclear business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial leadership across work winning and bid activities
  • Support and influence commercial strategy for new nuclear opportunities
  • Lead or contribute to commercial delivery on major nuclear projects
  • Manage contractual arrangements, with a strong focus on:
    • NEC forms of contract
    • Bespoke contract conditions
  • Oversee procurement and supply chain engagement, ensuring value and performance
  • Lead cost planning, budgeting, and CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) processes
  • Manage subcontractor commercial activities, including:
    • Procurement
    • Valuations
    • Final accounts
  • Support commercial risk management and dispute resolution
  • Set up and manage direct labour, plant, and materials where required
  • Work with senior stakeholders to shape commercial best practice and standards
  • Contribute to the development of the nuclear commercial function
What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Significant experience in commercial management within construction/infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and bespoke forms
  • Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management
  • Strong capability in budgeting and CVR processes
  • Experience in Design & Build environments
  • Ability to manage commercial reporting and project financial performance
  • Experience in subcontractor management (procurement through to final account)
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with senior leadership teams

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline
  • RICS (MRICS) or CIPS accreditation preferred
  • Experience using COINS (or similar commercial systems)
  • Knowledge of dispute resolution processes
  • Experience within highly regulated sectors (ideally nuclear) advantageous
