Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Data Security Engineer to design, build, and operate Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) capabilities across cloud, on-premises, SaaS, and hybrid environments.

You will help discover and classify sensitive data, assess access and exposure risks, automate remediation, and integrate DSPM findings with enterprise security, governance, and operational platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and operate DSPM solutions across structured and unstructured data environments.
• Discover, inventory, classify, and assess sensitive data across databases, data lakes, warehouses, object stores, file platforms, SaaS, and cloud services.
• Develop Python automation for data-source onboarding, scanning, metadata enrichment, risk scoring, evidence capture, and remediation workflows.
• Integrate DSPM platforms with IAM, data catalogs, CMDB, SIEM/SOAR, ticketing, incident response, and reporting systems.
• Correlate data sensitivity with ownership, permissions, identity, location, lineage, configuration, exposure, and activity.
• Configure classification policies, risk analytics, dashboards, alerts, and workflows.
• Improve classification accuracy, coverage, data freshness, connector health, and remediation performance.
• Support controls including least privilege, Zero Trust, encryption, masking, tokenisation, retention, and secure deletion.
• Troubleshoot integrations and distributed systems across APIs, networks, identities, cloud services, and data platforms.
• Produce technical designs, operational documentation, control evidence, metrics, and risk communications.

Essential Experience:

• 7+ years’ experience in data security, cybersecurity, cloud security, security engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of DSPM, data discovery, classification, governance, and data protection.
• Hands-on experience with structured and unstructured data environments and at least one public cloud platform.
• Strong Python skills, including REST APIs, authentication, testing, error handling, and automation.
• Experience with enterprise integrations, event-driven architectures, queues, or streaming technologies.
• Knowledge of IAM, RBAC/ABAC, least privilege, secrets management, encryption, logging, and network security.
• Experience with Linux, Git, CI/CD, containers, automated testing, and infrastructure automation.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.
• Experience working with privacy, regulatory, risk, and data-handling requirements.

Desirable Skills:

Experience with:

• Microsoft Purview, BigID, Varonis, Cyera, Securiti, or similar DSPM platforms.
• Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud data and security services.
• Databases, data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, MongoDB, or object storage.
• Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Kafka, Jenkins, Grafana, Loki, or Splunk.
• SIEM/SOAR, data catalogs, CMDB, data lineage, DLP, cryptography, masking, and retention.
• NIST, Zero Trust, cloud security frameworks, or regulated environments.
