The Senior Electrical Consultant will act as both a project manager and technical lead for offshore wind electrical studies and advisory assignments, supporting projects from early development and pre-FEED through FEED, procurement and delivery. You will primarily focus on offshore wind, including offshore transmission systems, export and inter-array cable systems, offshore and onshore substations, grid connection interfaces and electrical package management, with additional involvement in other renewable technologies where relevant. The Consultant will also support Onshore Renewables projects where possible including tasks such as design review and grid connection related tasks.

What will you be doing?
- Act as project manager and client focal point for offshore wind electrical study assignments, including management of scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, meetings, actions and client communications
- Lead and deliver offshore wind electrical technical studies at development, pre-FEED and FEED stage, balancing hands-on technical contribution with coordination of wider study teams
- Undertake, manage and review offshore wind electrical studies, including export and inter-array cable system studies, offshore transmission assessments, grid connection assessments, power system studies, electrical design assessments and techno-commercial optioneering
- Develop offshore wind electrical concepts, design bases, system architectures, transmission configurations and study methodologies appropriate to project stage
- Work on topics such as grid connection strategy, grid connection applications, connection offer reviews, engagement with network operators, transmission owners and other project stakeholders
- Support electrical equipment specifications, Employer’s Requirements and technical evaluation for procurement activities, including cables, substations, transformers, reactive compensation and associated electrical infrastructure
- Coordinate internal electrical resources, subcontractors and interfaces with other disciplines to deliver study scopes efficiently and to a consistent technical standard
- Prepare and manage project governance materials, including responsibility matrices, deliverables trackers, assumptions registers, risk and interface registers, and comment response logs
- Present study findings clearly to clients and stakeholders, translating technical analysis into practical recommendations, design decisions and project actions
- Contribute to business development activities, including client engagement, bid strategy, proposal preparation, and technical marketing material
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to junior and mid-level engineers
- Support continuous improvement of study processes, calculation tools, and quality assurance procedures
- Qualified to a bachelor’s or master’s degree standard in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- At least 5 years of work experience in a related area including at least 2 years in offshore wind.
- Knowledge and experience of offshore wind projects, with broader knowledge of renewable energy projects.
- Project management experience.
