We're looking for a Senior Engineer – Civils River Infrastructure to join our Kier Design team based in Bristol. Kier Design are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.

Location: Bristol

Hours: 40 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Are you…

  • Experienced in design delivery, including multidisciplinary design
  • Comfortable using your own judgement when managing uncertainty and technical risk
  • Experienced in the design of hydraulic structures or river engineering
  • A Chartered or Incorporated member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., CEng MICE)
  • Holding a Full driving licence

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Engineer – Civils River Infrastructure, you'll be working within the Kier Design team, supporting them in delivering Civil Infrastructure Engineering related services. You'll be working on diverse civil infrastructure projects for prominent clients including the Environment Agency, Severn Trent, and Mining Remediation Authority.

Your Day To Day Will Include

  • Reviewing and agreeing technical requirements of client remits, ensuring full understanding and challenging where necessary
  • Organising and leading the day-to-day workload of engineers and technical staff within the design team
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable legal requirements and Company policies, including CDM Regulations and Quality Management Systems
  • Contributing to the financial and commercial management of projects including progress monitoring and change control
  • Delivering alternative solutions and value engineering to enhance Kier's competitive position
