Senior Insurance business analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst with a strong background in the insurance domain to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of business analysis principles and methodologies, with a proven track record in legacy modernization projects. This role requires the ability to effectively capture and document requirements from legacy systems, ensuring a smooth transition to modern solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to legacy systems in the insurance domain.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to elicit requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications and use cases for development teams.
• Conduct gap analysis to identify discrepancies between current and desired states of business processes.
• Support the testing phase by developing test cases and ensuring that solutions meet business requirements.
• Assist in the development of training materials and user documentation to support system implementation.
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear communication and understanding of requirements.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders on status and risks.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the overall enhancement of business analysis practices within the organization.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies and best practices.
• Proven experience in the insurance domain, with a deep understanding of industry standards and regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in legacy modernization projects, including requirement gathering from legacy systems.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in business analysis tools and software.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks.
• Familiarity with data modeling and process mapping techniques.
• Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
• Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and system integration.
• Ability to mentor junior analysts and contribute to team development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) are a plus.
• Strong understanding of insurance products and services.
