Senior Java Developer
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Java professional to join a strategic migration program involving the modernization of existing applications onto a cloud-native technology stack. The role requires strong technical expertise, architecture understanding, and domain knowledge within booking and movement management systems. This role would suit a Senior Java Developer, Technical Lead, or Agile Technical Lead who can combine strong hands-on engineering skills with architecture and domain understanding.
Mode: This is the on-site position, 5 days a week work from office London (Canary Warf).
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable microservices using Java 17 and Spring Boot.
- Participate in application modernization and migration to AWS cloud platforms.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes.
- Work with MongoDB or comparable NoSQL databases.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with Agile feature teams to deliver business-critical capabilities.
- Understand, analyze, and implement requirements across booking and movement workflows.
- Engage with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Support integration with systems such as GIAA, FTPS, Booking Engine, Movement Engine, and Booking Instructions platforms.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to the development team.
Must Haves:
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 17,Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Extensive AWS cloud implementation experience.
- Experience with Kubernetes orchestration and containerization.
- Working knowledge of MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
- Experience in large-scale migration or transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and solution architecture.
- Experience working within Agile feature teams.
- Ability to understand complex business domains and translate requirements into technical solutions.
