Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 (depending on experience) + Benefits

Kin Vet are looking for an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders, delivering insightful financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making.


Working closely with the Finance Director and wider leadership team, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, improving financial processes, and providing the analysis needed to drive business performance.


The Role:


As Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for producing high-quality management accounts while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning across the business.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines.
  • Prepare detailed profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
  • Deliver meaningful financial analysis and commentary to senior management.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
  • Monitor financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
  • Business partner with operational managers to support commercial decision-making.
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately.
  • Support statutory audits and year-end accounts preparation.
  • Review and improve financial controls and accounting processes.
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Mentor and support junior members of the finance team where required.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Contribute to finance projects, system improvements, and process automation initiatives.


About You:


We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent commercial awareness.


  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or be qualified by experience).
  • Significant experience in a Senior Management Accountant role.
  • Strong understanding of management reporting and financial analysis.
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience using ERP or finance systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Experience with business partnering and supporting operational teams.
  • Knowledge of Power BI or financial reporting tools.
  • Experience improving financial processes and controls.
