Senior Media Rights Manager

London Area, United Kingdom Full-time Posted 1 week ago

Please note, Formula E is hiring for two senior opportunities within its Media Rights team, with one role focused on Media Rights Sales and one on Account Management.

About Formula E:

Formula E is the world’s leading all-electric motorsport championship, combining high-performance racing with innovation, technology and sustainability. With a global fanbase of 422 million, the championship continues to challenge tradition and demonstrate what the future of sport can look like.

Racing in some of the world’s most iconic cities, Formula E brings together elite sport, live entertainment and cutting-edge technology. As the championship continues to grow its global reach, this is an opportunity to join an ambitious organisation and play an important role in how Formula E reaches and engages audiences around the world.

The Impact You'll Make:

Formula E is looking for one Senior Media Rights Sales Manager and one Senior Media Rights Account Manager to lead the strategic management and commercial growth of their most valued global broadcasting partnerships, while identifying and developing new media rights sales and distribution opportunities across select international markets.

This is an opportunity to work across the full media rights lifecycle. You will build senior relationships with broadcasters and platforms, develop new commercial opportunities, lead pitches and negotiations, support contract renewals and help expand Formula E’s distribution into new territories.

Alongside the commercial remit, you will stay closely connected to how partnerships are activated. From developing high-impact “tune-in” campaigns to supporting broadcasters on-site at E-Prix weekends, you will help grow audiences, maximise partner performance and ensure Formula E’s media product is delivered to a world-class standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Senior Media Rights Sales Manager

  • Identify and pursue new broadcast and media rights opportunities across international markets.
  • Support the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and pitching through to commercial negotiation and close.
  • Develop territory-specific approaches that support media rights revenue and distribution growth.
  • Play a decisive role in the media rights cycle, supporting the wider Media team in contract renewal negotiations and the commercialisation of new territories.
  • Identify opportunities to maximise the commercial value of existing rights, content and distribution assets.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the evolving sports broadcasting landscape to develop comprehensive market intelligence that informs future sales strategies.

Senior Media Rights Account Manager

  • Lead the strategic management of key global broadcast and platforms, building strong senior-level relationships and overseeing day-to-day account delivery.
  • Develop bespoke seasonal account plans and “tune-in” campaigns that drive audience growth and engagement.
  • Lead broadcaster servicing and activations at E-Prix weekends, acting as a key point of contact to ensure the world-class delivery of our media product in a live race environment.
  • Support the onboarding of broadcast partners, including hands-on training across Formula E’s media products and broadcast toolkits.
  • Collaborate with Brand, Marketing, Insights and Strategy teams to maximise partner performance and deliver a consistent approach across the organisation.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience selling media rights, with a strong track record within the sports media industry, ideally gained at a broadcaster, platform, rightsholder, or leading agency.
  • In-depth understanding of the global broadcast media rights lifecycle, including sales, distribution, commercialisation and contract renewals.
  • Proven experience managing high-value strategic accounts and developing successful long-term client relationships.
  • Extensive experience operating across multiple international markets (outside of the UK), navigating diverse media landscapes and cultural nuances.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the evolving sports broadcasting landscape across conventional and digital platforms.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at senior and executive level.
  • A second international language, particularly Spanish, French, German or Italian, would be advantageous.
  • Experience supporting major sporting events or knowledge of motorsport would be beneficial.
