Role Description The Senior Merchandiser Buyer role at Caramel London is a full-time, on-site position based in London. The role involves managing the buying process for childrenswear, womenswear, and homewares, including range planning, product selection, and seasonal assortment building in line with brand strategy. Daily responsibilities include analyzing sales and stock data, monitoring performance at SKU and category level, and making informed decisions on rebuys, markdowns, and product phasing to maximize margin and sell-through. The Senior Merchandiser Buyer will collaborate closely with design, production, retail, and marketing teams to ensure collections are commercially viable, cohesive, and aligned with customer demand. The role also includes supplier negotiation, market and competitor research, and contributing to pricing and inventory strategies to support sustainable growth.

Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Customer service awareness and the ability to translate customer feedback and behavior into commercial decisions.
- Proven sales and retail experience, with a track record of driving performance through assortment planning and merchandising.
- Marketing awareness, with an understanding of how product, visuals, and storytelling support brand positioning and sales.
- Significant experience in merchandising and buying within fashion or luxury retail, ideally across childrenswear or womenswear.
- Advanced analytical skills, including proficiency with Excel or similar tools for forecasting, margin analysis, and sales reporting.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships and terms.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple seasons and categories simultaneously.
- Knowledge of retail KPIs, inventory management, and pricing strategies in a multi-channel environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
