Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Network Engineer who is operating at a CCNP level with strong general routing and switching knowledge to come and join the team. You'll join our excelling team, based in the London area. This opportunity would require you to be onsite in Central London two days per week.
This opportunity will Deliver WAN, PoP, hosting, and site core Layer 3 networking build, migration, and divested-entity cleanup across a large-scale corporate divestiture programme, working at pace through both manual and automated methods to ensure retained-entity core infrastructure is operationally ready ahead of Day 1.

Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Network Engineer who is operating at a CCNP level with strong general routing and switching knowledge to come and join the team. This opportunity will Deliver WAN, PoP, hosting, and site core Layer 3 networking build, migration, and divested-entity cleanup across a large-scale corporate divestiture programme, working at pace through both manual and automated methods to ensure retained-entity core infrastructure is operationally ready ahead of Day 1.
What you'll be doing:
- Based on the design provided by the architecture team, build new PoP infrastructure including colocation procurement, rack and stack, and initial configuration. integrating perimeter security (Palo Alto), Zscaler GRE tunnels, SD-WAN termination, and cloud connectivity (AWS Direct Connect)
- Deliver hosting network integration for spine-and-leaf, pseudowire, and L3 peering environments using Nexus NX-OS
- Deploy new L3 core switches at retained-entity sites and integrate with the new WAN across multiple locations
- Migrate production distribution networks (storage, media production, transcoding) into new routing domains
- Configure VRF separation to isolate retained and divested traffic ahead of Day 1
- Implement multicast topology (PIM-SM, RP/BSR, IGMP) and NTP distribution from new PoP infrastructure
- Remove retained-entity VRFs, routing configuration, and decommissioned point-to-point links from divested-entity core switches
- Deliver changes via CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with the automation and tooling team
- Coordinate with security, platform, identity, and cloud workstreams on cross-workstream dependencies
- Produce low-level designs, technical working papers, and decision records, and participate in design assurance reviews
