Here at Frimley Park Hospital we are at an exciting time in our theatres transformation and modernisation of NHS services. We are now currently actively recruiting to Band 6 Perioperative Practitioners in Anaesthetic’s, to enhance a highly motivated and skilled team.
We are seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals who relish lifelong learning, and implementing this into clinical practice to enhance optimum patient care with a background in theatre practice within all areas of Anaesthetic’s to join our hard working, and trustworthy team. You must have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, and truly accept that being an ODP/anaesthetic nurse can be a demanding, challenging as well as a multi-disciplinary and rewarding profession.
Within this role you will provide a high standard of evidence based care and skilled practice for peri-operative patients throughout their theatre journey. There are excellent opportunities for professional and personal development within this progressive dynamic and diverse department with the support of our Practice Development Team. You will be a qualified Anaesthetic Nurse/ ODP and will be given full support and the resources to expand further in their career.

Main duties of the job
- Be responsible for assessing patient care needs and for the planning, implementation and evaluation of care programmes, working autonomously where required.
- Ensure all clinical practice within the theatre environment complies with Trust policies and procedures.
- Adhere at all times to the NMC Code (or HCPC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics, and Standards of Proficiency for ODPs, as applicable).
- Communicate effectively and liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team to support high standards of patient care.
- Demonstrate a collaborative approach to care planning, involving the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families in decision-making.
- Continuously develop and enhance clinical skills, maintaining up-to-date knowledge in a dynamic and evolving healthcare environment.
- Provide clinical leadership and support to the operating theatre team, contributing to staff development.
- Work alongside the Team Leader to address any identified issues of clinical competence.
- Contribute to the investigation, resolution and follow-up of informal and formal complaints.
- Prioritise workload effectively, supporting the smooth and efficient running of the theatre/department.
- Provide specialist knowledge and expertise within the department.
- Participate in, and where appropriate lead, quality improvement initiatives to ensure care is evidence-based and research-led.
- Take part in the out-of-hours on-call rota as required.
