Senior Planner

We are looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join our team on the Wixams project, a unique and high-profile rail infrastructure scheme currently progressing through the design phase, with delivery works anticipated to commence in early 2027.

As the project gathers momentum, this is an exciting opportunity to become involved at a pivotal stage, helping to shape construction strategy and develop robust delivery plans as the design evolves.

Working closely with theHead of Planning and Planning Lead for Wixams, you will support the planning function in developing construction methodologies, undertaking scenario planning, and ensuring the project team is producing the optimum delivery strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Planning Lead in the development and maintenance of project programmes.
  • Develop and refine construction and scenario plans as the design progresses.
  • Lead constructability reviews and planning activities throughout the design stages.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, delivery and commercial teams to ensure programme integration.
  • Communicate planning strategies and programme requirements effectively across project stakeholders.
  • Support NEC contract administration requirements from a planning perspective.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative solutions to complex construction challenges.

About You

We're looking for someone with practical site experience who understands how projects are delivered and can translate that knowledge into high-quality construction programmes.

You will ideally have:

  • HND, Degree or Degree Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A desire to progress towards, or currently be working towards, Engineering Chartership.
  • Demonstrable experience within civil engineering construction environments.
  • Previous rail project experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
  • Experience working under NEC contracts.
  • A background in site engineering, Section Engineer or Agent-level roles, looking to transition into or further develop a planning career.
  • Experience producing construction plans and methodologies from first principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
