We deliver projects of all scales across commercial, industrial, education, leisure, defence, and conservation sectors.

As an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) business, our people genuinely share in the success they create. You’ll have a real voice in how the company evolves, a collaborative culture built on trust and expertise, and the opportunity to benefit from tax‑free annual bonuses as the business grows.

The Role:

We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Norwich office on a full‑time, on‑site basis. This is a key technical and leadership role within the structural engineering team.

You will lead and deliver structural design projects from concept through to completion, working across a wide range of building and infrastructure schemes. You’ll take ownership of structural analysis, calculations, and detailed design, ensuring that our solutions are robust, buildable, and aligned with client expectations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading structural design projects and producing high‑quality calculation packages and drawings
  • Reviewing, checking, and guiding the work of engineers and technicians
  • Coordinating with clients, architects, contractors, and other disciplines
  • Managing project finances, resources, and programme commitments
  • Supporting site inspections, technical reviews, and construction‑stage problem‑solving
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes, and regulations

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical leadership, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to contribute to the continued growth of an employee‑owned consultancy.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings strong technical capability, confidence in decision‑making, and a proactive, team‑focused approach.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Proven experience independently delivering and leading structural engineering projects
  • Strong structural analysis and design skills, with solid understanding of relevant codes and standards
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
  • Competence in structural design software such as SCIA, Masterseries, TEDDs and CADS, and confidence reviewing and producing clear drawings and models
  • A relevant degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or actively working toward chartership
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Experience in mentoring junior engineers and managing multiple deadlines

Desirable:

  • Understanding of how structures interface with wider civil and infrastructure works
  • Familiarity with UK building regulations, health and safety requirements, CDM, The Building Safety Act and sustainable design principles

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary aligned with experience and qualifications
  • Employee Ownership Trust benefits, including tax‑free annual bonuses
  • Generous holiday allowance and pension contributions
  • Clear pathways for career progression and professional development
  • Support toward chartership and further qualifications
  • A friendly, collaborative environment where your voice genuinely matters
  • Exposure to a wide variety of project types and sectors
