We are seeking a visionary leader to drive critical initiatives within a multi-year global transformation program. This is an unparalleled opportunity to make a significant impact by steering key delivery workstreams and providing strategic leadership to our Program Management Office. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our operations, ensuring that complex projects are delivered with precision, and fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement across our global business. Your expertise will directly influence the success of strategic objectives, contributing to enhanced efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall business growth.

This is a 6/12-month (TBC), hybrid contract, offering up to £515 per day (PAYE) or £700 per day (Umbrella) – 37.5 hrs/week (PAYE). The shortlisted candidates will be contacted ASAP. Due to the high volume of applicants, we may be unable to reply to each applicant individually.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage key delivery workstreams and sub-projects, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines, budgets, scope, quality, and change control criteria.
  • Define, source, and manage necessary resources for project completion, making timely adjustments to achieve objectives.
  • Develop accurate project plans and budgets, identifying opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness in resource utilization, and reporting variances to senior management.
  • Proactively control issues, risks, dependencies, and scope changes associated with large, complex projects, ensuring timely intervention and stakeholder communication.
  • Conduct regular reviews of project outcomes, both internally with the delivery team and externally with clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Act as an escalation point, offering support and guidance to project managers across multiple workstreams.
  • Establish project and workstream assurance as a formal discipline, proactively identifying issues through audits and plan reviews.
  • Provide regular reports on project and workstream performance, as well as overall portfolio health, instilling confidence in delivery to time, cost, and quality.
  • Champion a customer-centric culture, ensuring that good client and consumer outcomes are at the heart of all decision-making.
  • Contribute to people management processes through effective assignment management of project team members.
  • Drive a high-performance culture by ensuring all project team members have stretching objectives.
  • Act as a positive and enthusiastic role model, demonstrating a “can-do” approach.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and ensure team members understand their obligations and company policies.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong understanding and application of Project and Programme Management competencies, including stakeholder management, contracts, scope, schedule, costs, quality, HR, communications, risk, procurement, and integration.
  • Extensive experience managing technical projects and programs, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical subject matter experts and delivery teams.
  • Strong understanding and application of change management competencies.
  • Exceptional leadership, coordination, motivation, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships and build trusted partnerships with team members and peers.
  • Strong understanding of business requirements and technical limitations within complex organizational systems and processes.
  • Ability to apply analytical skills and conceptual thinking to both short-term and long-term operations and systems planning across a wide range of technologies.
  • Financial literacy to forecast and manage workstream, project, and departmental budgets, costs, and revenue.
  • Ability to influence and build productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • A track record of advocating for and instilling cultural improvement, discipline, and effective communication.
  • A passion for encouraging innovation and achieving improvements in delivery quality, staff motivation, and role flexibility.
  • Proven ability to define and execute on a project’s purpose and direction, including vision, mission, values, and objectives.
  • Experience with project governance against improved project delivery lifecycle processes, escalated risk mitigation, and issue resolution.
  • Ability to identify and manage resource requirements effectively.
  • Excellent knowledge of project management methodology and tools, including relevant software.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer systems and processes, as well as PC desktop applications.
  • Strong knowledge of business unit products and operations, and relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Educated to degree-level or equivalent, with a commitment to continued professional development at a high level.
