We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and compassionate Therapy Assistant with a passion for helping adults to live better following vascular surgery.
The Wirral Limb Centre Service is a multidisciplinary team including doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and a prosthetics. You will work within the limb centre service to support the smooth running of the team by performing a range of clinical, clerical, administrational, housekeeping and departmental tasks.
The role will involve working directly with the Wirral Limb Centre service team members and require confidence in delivering delegated management plans and activities with an individual caseload and also as part of our group sessions. This role requires a car user with access to a car for work and involves care in the patients home.

- Communicate effectively within the Therapy Team and members of the multidisciplinary Team.
- Establish a rapport with patients in order to gain their compliance with exercise programmes.
- Work under the guidance of the Qualified Therapy staff.
- To be a caring and responsible member of the Therapies service and contribute the Directorate activities.
- To support the Therapists in delivering patient focussed care undertaking a range of clinical, clerical and admin, and housekeeping tasks.
- Organise and prioritise workload, under the guidance of a qualified Therapist.
- To be guided by standard operational procedures, protocol and guidelines.
- To prepare the patient and environment for the required therapeutic activity.
- Assist patients in dress/undress, ensuring the patients personal care needs are met, transporting patients to the treatment area.
- Prepare the environment for the therapy session – including clearing the area of obstructions, preparing equipment e.g. treadmill, static bicycles etc manoeuvring hoists, and other therapy equipment.
- Assist the Therapist during a treatment session/ intervention.
- Work with the Therapist to assist in treatment sessions, when required, in a wide range of activities including exercises and practising activities of daily living, accompanying the Therapist on home visits etc.
- Order new equipment and provide equipment checks
- Be able to lone work with remote supervision
