We have an exciting new opportunity for Service Design and Transition Lead to join Robert Walters as a Consultant.

What You'll Do

We are seeking an experienced Service Design & Transition Lead to embed and operationalise a newly implemented Service Design & Transition framework within a complex, regulated banking environment.

This role will be responsible for ensuring the framework is consistently adopted, aligned to regulatory expectations, and effectively supports a time-critical Tier 1 regulatory programme. Operating in a greenfield environment, the successful candidate will drive service design maturity across multiple in-flight initiatives and ensure services transition effectively into stable, auditable operations.


Translate the framework into practical, scalable, and repeatable processes

  • Drive adoption across technology and delivery teams, ensuring alignment to governance and compliance standards
  • Identify and close gaps between framework design and execution
  • Refine service models, operating models, and governance structures
  • Lead the transition of services into Business-as-Usual (BAU)
  • Ensure services are designed with clear ownership, support models, and operational readiness
  • Align service design practices with audit and regulatory requirements
  • Establish processes that generate auditable evidence and traceability
  • Support regulatory programme delivery through robust control design
  • Work closely with Service Architects and stakeholders to ensure end-to-end alignment


What You Bring

  • Strong experience in Service Design and/or Service Transition
  • Proven track record of embedding frameworks in complex environments
  • Background in banking, financial services, or regulated industries
  • Solid understanding of ITSM / ITIL principles and service lifecycle
  • Experience working with service architects, delivery teams, and support functions
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • Hands-on, delivery-focused approach


This role is critical in moving the organisation from framework implementation to full operational maturity, ensuring services are designed, transitioned, and governed in line with regulatory expectations.
