We are recruiting for a Site Agent to join us here at Octavius.
We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.
You'll be working on….
Road improvement schemes in Southampton, Hampshire taking full ownership of site delivery from start to completion.
You'll be responsible for leading day-to-day operations on site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards. This includes managing subcontractors, coordinating resources, and maintaining strong relationships with the local authority and wider stakeholders.
You'll play a key role in planning and programming works, managing traffic-sensitive activities, and ensuring minimal disruption to the local community, while driving performance across safety, quality and commercial outcomes.

You're comfortable leading site teams, working in live environments, and engaging with clients such as local authorities. You take pride in delivering projects safely and to a high standard, while keeping a close eye on programme and cost.
You're proactive, organised and solutions-focused, with the ability to bring people together to get things done.

- Experience delivering highways or civil engineering projects, ideally for local authorities.
- Strong understanding of site management, programme delivery, and subcontract coordination.
- Knowledge of working in live environments with traffic management constraints.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts, HSEQ standards and quality processes.
- HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- SMSTS and CSCS Manager card.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
