We are looking for a full-time Social Value Manager to join our team and work on consultancy projects across our transport infrastructure market.

The successful candidate joins our Responsible Business team, shaping and delivering client facing social value activities and strategy. They will be required to deliver social value across major programmes, work as part of a multidisciplinary team, facilitate collaboration between contractors and consultants, and drive market-leading SV solutions that are effective and innovative.

You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Delivering high-value Social Value consultancy from RIBA Stages 1 to 7.
  • Ensuring our client requirements, targets and responsibilities are fully understood and executed efficiently.
  • Organising SV activities (e.g. T Level placements) to deliver our SV commitments on major programmes.
  • Identifying KPI’s, targets and processes to monitor and report on the delivery of SV.
  • Developing strong relationships with project teams and clients.
  • Organising in-person SV events to facilitate collaboration between clients, contractors and consultants.
  • Identifying opportunities to grow and enhance our SV service offer.
  • Supporting SV work winning through writing bids, proactive business development, networking, client liaison and raising Mace’s profile externally.
  • Delivering client presentations and carrying out internal and external upskilling/training sessions.
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach
  • Creating reports for our clients and project teams including economic valuation of SV outcomes.
  • Identifying and producing case studies to assist with bids and communicating best practice.
  • Assisting clients to maximise SV through their procurement processes.
  • Supporting the organisation of volunteering days across Mace.
  • Dealing with queries and any issues in a professional manner and effectively deal with any conflict as and when required.
  • Supporting the rest of Mace’s Responsible Business team, and any other ad hoc SV duties as required.

You’ll Need To Have

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Social Value.
  • Experience in implementing and embedding SV initiatives into major projects.
  • Construction experience would be beneficial.
  • Infrastructure/transport sector experience would be beneficial.
  • Passion and drive to maximise SV in the built environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the latest SV drivers, policies, models and delivery mechanisms.
  • Business development experience including bid writing, client interviews and presentations.
  • Skills in effective problem solving and negotiation.
  • Ability to persuade and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong skills in organisation and time management.
  • Calm and professional manner.
  • Solid administration and IT skills - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
