VisitHealth and Care Worker visa: Overview - GOV.UK The Community Speech & Language Therapy team at Alder Hey works across the localities of Sefton and Liverpool, and we have a vacancy for Band 6 Specialist Speech & Language Therapist based in Liverpool. We are looking for an experienced therapist to join our innovative team to work with children and young people presenting with a range of speech, language and communication needs associated with other developmental / neurological presentations, as well as those with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties. This is a specialist post, with support from a range of highly specialist speech and language therapists, and access to external CPD courses and opportunities to undertake research encouraged. This post is based in the community, and so there is an expectation that the successful candidate will be able to travel to, and between various locations throughout the week. If you would like more information, please contact Anna Thomson, Deputy Lead on 0151 295 3990 Main duties of the job The successful candidate will work in the neighbourhood team of speech and language therapists to provide a high-quality speech and language therapy service to children in a variety of community settings including clinics, mainstream and specialist schools and nurseries. We are looking for a therapist who can assess and provide a range of therapeutic interventions using specialist knowledge to children with a variety of speech, language and communication difficulties. The job plan for this post includes sessions dedicated to providing assessment and interventions for children and young people presenting with eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties The team work collaboratively with other partner agencies and carers to enable them to understand the communication needs and to provide appropriate advice, support and intervention. Ability to navigate the geographical area to attend multiple sites for work purposes throughout the working week. Understanding of the SEND Reforms and the collaboration between NHS and Education and Social Care Desirable Knowledge of Therapy Outcome Measures (TOMs) Awareness / working knowledge of the North Staffordshire Risk Matrix Experience Essential Post graduate experience working with a range of paediatric speech, language and communication difficulties. Relevant experience providing assessment, care planning and report writing Demonstrable experience as an autonomous practitioner working in the clinical area of eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.
