Specialty Doctor - Trauma & Orthopaedics Knee Service

The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at UHD are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Speciality Doctor in Knee surgery and trauma working with Professor Harvey, Mr Lynch, Mr Pavlou and Mr Willis-Owen who specialise in Knee Surgery.
This is an exciting time to join as we are currently making great progress with a vision in creating a first class fully integrated Trauma and Orthopaedic Service within our Bournemouth and Poole Hospital sites as part of the new University Hospitals Dorset.
Working alongside our existing specialty doctors and registrars to provide care to inpatients including new admissions
Supervision and support of junior medical colleagues, Physicians Associates and Advanced Nurse Practitioners/Advanced Clinical Practitioners
Maintaining continued professional development
Attending multidisciplinary meetings
Attending and contributing to educational sessions and Clinical Governance meetings
Partaking in departmental Quality Improvement work
Participating in the hospital appraisal process as part of on-going professional development
Weekend working will be expected in this role.

There is a planned move for this service where this role and base of work will relocate to the Bournemouth Hospital site. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the postholder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute. Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
