Sub-Investigator (Respiratory) — Bank Contract
Contract Type: Bank (as-needed, no fixed hours)
BDD Pharma is a Glasgow based commercial clinical research company conducting a Phase 3 respiratory clinical trial of a new therapy for individuals with bronchiectasis at our clinical site within the grounds of Glasgow Royal Infirmary. We are seeking a GMC-registered respiratory physician to join our site team as Sub-Investigator on a bank basis, providing cover as and when participants are scheduled — no fixed weekly hours. Conduct is expected to start late 2026 / early 2027.
You will work under the delegated authority and direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, supporting the safe and compliant conduct of trial visits for enrolled participants. Sessions are booked around the study visit schedule, so hours vary week to week depending on recruitment and follow-up activity.
• Act as Sub-Investigator under PI delegation, in accordance with ICH-GCP, the protocol, and BDD Pharma SOPs
• Conduct participant screening, consent discussions, and study visit assessments
• Provide expert respiratory advice to participants and the clinical site team when appropriate
• Perform or oversee protocol-specified clinical procedures within your competence
• Identify, assess, and document adverse events/serious adverse events, escalating to the PI as required
• Maintain accurate source documentation and CRF entries in line with study requirements
• Liaise with the PI, clinical site team, and sponsor/CRO contacts as needed
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Medical degree
• Prior or current clinical experience relevant to respiratory medicine (e.g. respiratory registrar, research fellow or consultant)
• Familiarity with, or willingness to train in, ICH-GCP and UK clinical trial regulations
• Comfortable working flexibly around a variable, session-driven schedule
• Previous experience as a Sub-Investigator or in a clinical trials setting
• Expertise in managing patients with bronchiectasis
• Competitive session/day rate
• Full GCP and protocol-specific training provided
• Flexible, bank engagement suited to those balancing this alongside other clinical commitments
