Supply Operations Lead

Manchester, England, United Kingdom Full-time Posted 1 hour ago

Job Title: Supply Operations Lead

Location: Lowry Mill

Reports to: COO

Job Overview:

This role is for someone who thrives on keeping stock, suppliers, and fulfilment running like clockwork. As Supply Operations Lead, you'll be the person accountable for making sure the right stock is in the right place at the right time, that our suppliers deliver on their commitments, and that orders flow smoothly from planning through to fulfilment.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving IoT business, and it suits someone who's naturally organised, commercially minded about stock value, and comfortable owning a process end-to-end. You'll work closely with internal teams and customers to keep supply reliable and efficient.

Key Responsibilities:

Stock Planning & Purchasing

  • Own stock planning to ensure the right stock is in the right place, at the right time, with value kept under control.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers, including performance, lead times, and delivery reliability.
  • Apply structured purchasing decisions that balance stock availability against cost and cash tied up in inventory.
  • Monitor stock levels and flag risks before they become problems.

Fulfilment & Material Handling

  • Plan and co-ordinate fulfilment processes to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
  • Support material handling activities where they intersect with stock accuracy and fulfilment flow.
  • Oversee refurbishment and returns processes, ensuring stock is processed, graded, and returned to available inventory (or disposed of) efficiently.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks across the stock-to-fulfilment journey.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve stock accuracy, supplier performance, and fulfilment efficiency.
  • Use data to inform stock planning and purchasing decisions
  • Work with wider operations teams to build repeatable, scalable processes as the business grows.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar stock, inventory, or supply operations role.
  • Organised and action-orientated, with the ability to manage competing priorities across purchasing, stock, and fulfilment.
  • Strong supplier management skills, with confidence holding external suppliers to account.
  • Comfortable working with data to make stock and purchasing decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a hardware, IoT, or physical product business, where stock accuracy and fulfilment speed directly affect customer experience.
  • Familiarity with inventory or ERP systems used for stock planning and purchasing.
