Tax Accountant | Hybrid — London / Manchester | Full Time, Permanent | up to £45,000 | Reporting to Senior Tax Manager
The Role
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of hospitality clients, leading the delivery of their tax compliance and advisory work to a standard we're proud of, and developing the people who deliver it alongside you.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Restricted To
Our Values Set The Standard, And Our Behaviours Are How That Standard Shows Up In The Work. At Manager Level, We Expect You To
Hospitality First — You treat colleagues and clients with the same care our clients show their guests. You set the tone for your team, and you're the example people follow when things get busy.
Partner — You build relationships clients rely on. You manage expectations honestly, communicate before you're chased, and take responsibility for the outcome rather than the task.
Insightful — You go beyond the return. You notice what the numbers say about the business behind them, and you make complexity clear for people who don't live in it.
Innovative — You question how things are done, and you're willing to change them. You look for the better way rather than defending the current one.
These are underpinned by the six behaviours we hold everyone to:
You're meticulous, motivated and you love getting tax right. You thrive in a structured but fast-moving environment, and you take pride in delivering service excellence.

The Role
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of hospitality clients, leading the delivery of their tax compliance and advisory work to a standard we're proud of, and developing the people who deliver it alongside you.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Restricted To
- Managing a portfolio of owner-managed hospitality businesses, acting as the trusted tax contact for each client
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns, alongside personal tax, partnership and LLP returns
- Reviewing the work of junior colleagues, providing technical feedback that develops them, not just corrects them
- Identifying and delivering advisory opportunities — capital allowances, group structuring, remuneration planning, R&D — or escalating to an external partner where required.
- Managing HMRC correspondence, enquiries and deadlines on behalf of clients
- Owning your portfolio's WIP, billing and recoverability, and flagging scope creep early
- Keeping technical knowledge current and translating legislative change into plain, actionable advice for clients
- Working with the wider accounts, payroll and insights teams so clients experience one firm, not four departments
- Contributing to how we improve — process, technology and the way we use Xero, TaxCalc and Inform Direct.

- Deliver Excellence — accuracy, attention to detail and a review habit that catches things before the client does
- Take Action — you resolve rather than escalate by default, and you move things forward without being asked twice
- Be Agile — you adapt as priorities shift, and you help your team do the same
- Be Curious — you keep learning, and you ask the question others assume is answered
- Be Influential — you communicate clearly, bring people with you, and lead by example
