Team Coordinator - Change

Manchester, England, United Kingdom Full-time Posted 20 hours ago
The General Medical Council (GMC) works to protect patient safety and improve medical education and practice across the UK. We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience of leadership and people management to join our Change and Knowledge Management (CKM) team as a Team Coordinator. You’ll influence the direction of the team through your innovative and collaborative management style, drawing on your compassionate leadership skills to bring the team with you on the journey of change and transformation.

You’ll lead a team of Support Advisers to ensure the CKM function performs at its very best, by supporting the facilitation and implementation of change across the directorate. You’ll support the team to deliver a portfolio of change initiatives – including systems and processes – by allocating work according to capacity. Your line reports will provide administrative support to project teams, as well as delivering business-as-usual changes for Operational teams. You’ll ensure the team is delivering high-quality and timely work to meet customer needs by engaging with performance monitoring and capacity management tools. You’ll monitor and measure performance, presenting data to inform decisions such as work allocation and the setting of team objectives.

You’ll drive team success by supporting the personal and professional development of your line reports. You’ll help them to grow both their soft and technical skills, by providing regular, honest feedback, praising colleagues for doing a good job and proactively tackling underperformance. Working closely with the Change Team Manager, you’ll help to deliver the directorate’s operational plan and team objectives. You’ll influence direction by creating persuasive and influential proposals, in the form of business cases and recommendation documents.

You’ll need to be a confident leader, with solid experience in team management, knowing how to get the best out of teams. This experience has given you the confidence to tackle complex programmes of work through careful planning. You’ll balance your own workload with the priorities of your team effectively, to delivery high-quality work to deadlines. You’ll plan, coordinate and facilitate team events and activities, demonstrating creativity to secure engagement and nurture an environment of continuous improvement.
