Location: Washington/Hybrid

About The Role

We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our Wastewater, Quality and Compliance team as a Technical Advisor, where you’ll play an important role in supporting the essential compliance work delivered across the business.

In this role, you’ll help ensure we meet increasing regulatory requirements by supporting compliance monitoring, environmental reporting, and permitting activities across our sewage treatment works, storm overflows, and pumping stations. You’ll also contribute to the delivery of technical projects focused on improving asset performance and strengthening our monitoring capabilities.

As a Technical Advisor, you’ll act as a key source of expertise, providing guidance and insight on wastewater compliance to colleagues across the organisation. Working closely with operational teams and other departments, you’ll help manage and deliver technical initiatives while supporting informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact, helping to protect the environment, enhance operational performance, and ensure we continue to meet our regulatory responsibilities.

About You

We’re looking for individuals who are confident communicators, able to build strong relationships and positively influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will bring strong analytical capability, with the ability to handle and interpret data effectively, supported by a sound understanding of scientific principles, particularly in areas such as wastewater treatment or environmental permitting.

You’ll enjoy problem solving and take a curious, investigative approach to your work, enabling you to assess technical information, interpret complex datasets and draw clear, meaningful conclusions. An understanding of the regulatory landscape within the water industry is important, along with an appreciation of how these requirements influence the operation and management of assets.

You will be educated to degree level, or hold equivalent experience in a scientific discipline, and be confident in managing, analysing and presenting data. Good Excel skills are essential, along with the ability to travel between sites, so a full UK driving licence is required.

Overall, we’re looking for someone who is inquisitive, collaborative and driven, with a passion for using data and insight to support environmental performance and operational excellence.
