Telecom Design Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Telecom Design Engineer to support telecom network design and delivery projects. The role involves preparing, reviewing, and validating site designs, drawings, and technical documentation in line with client specifications and UK industry standards. You will work closely with project teams to ensure designs are accurate, compliant, and ready for implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and update Detailed Design (DD) packages based on survey data, site inputs, and client specifications
- Prepare and review site design drawings including layouts, schematics, GA, As-Built, and related documentation
- Ensure compliance with UK operator standards, planning requirements, and H&S regulations
- Interpret site survey reports and develop structured engineering designs
- Collaborate with project engineers, planners, and construction teams to resolve design queries
- Maintain accuracy and control of design documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Support design approvals, document control, and quality checks
Requirements
- 8–12 years of telecom design experience in mobile network projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications / Electrical / Electronics Engineering
- Strong experience in Detailed Design (DD), Redlines, and As-Built documentation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and telecom design/documentation tools
- Strong understanding of UK telecom rollout processes and operator standards
- Knowledge of telecom infrastructure and network design principles
- Strong attention to detail and document control discipline
- Good communication skills in English for cross-functional coordination
