We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated Theatre Stores Manager to join the One Lancashire & South Cumbria (One LSC) Procurement and Supply Chain Team, leading the Theatre Stores service at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT).
This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational leader to manage the delivery of a high-quality, efficient and customer-focused materials management service across our Theatre departments.
As Theatre Stores Manager, you will oversee all aspects of stock and inventory management, ensuring the timely receipt, replenishment, storage and distribution of supplies to meet the demands of busy clinical environments that support the delivery of safe, effective patient care.
You will act as a visible and accessible point of contact for Theatre teams, building strong relationships with clinical and operational colleagues to deliver a responsive and reliable supply chain service.
Through effective leadership and engagement, you will foster a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement, service excellence and achieving departmental objectives.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised individual with strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills to make a significant contribution to patient care through the effective management of theatre supplies and inventory services.
Main Duties Summary
The Theatre Stores Manager will lead and coordinate the Theatre Stores team, ensuring the delivery of an efficient, customer-focused materials management and logistics service across Theatre and clinical departments.
The role is responsible for overseeing stock management processes, including ordering, replenishment, receipt, storage and distribution of supplies, ensuring stock availability, compliance with inventory procedures and value for money.
The successful candidate will manage team performance and workload, support staff development, and maintain high standards of customer service through close collaboration with clinical teams, Procurement and Logistics colleagues. They will act as a key point of contact for supply chain matters, resolve queries, monitor expenditure and stock usage, and lead regular reviews to drive service improvement and operational efficiency.
The role requires a proactive and hands-on approach, including maintaining safe and effective store environments, ensuring compliance with Trust policies, financial regulations, health and safety requirements, and supporting the introduction of new systems and processes.
The post holder will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, savings programmes and the wider strategic objectives of the Trust and One Lancashire & South Cumbria (One LSC).
